The dental implant procedure

After a consultation to determine whether dental implants are the best way to replace your teeth, you will need two appointments, a few months apart. The first appointment consists of:
  • Surgical implantation of the implant into your jaw. This takes place under local anesthesia.
  • A temporary tooth replacement being fitted while the bone and implant fuse.
The fusing process can take several months. Once complete, it’s time for your second appointment where the permanent replacement tooth, or implant crown, is attached to the implant, usually via an abutment. After receiving your dental implants, look after them as you would any natural tooth, by brushing, flossing and visiting the dentist on a regular basis.

Dr. Hunter is great! Thorough and professional but also very relaxed and quiet atmosphere.
